Ixtapa Zihuatanejo Tips

Zihuatenejo Picture

Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo are located at the west of Guerrero state. Both places have golden beaches with priviledged sunshine and sea, sourranded by its magestous tropical nature. Both together make the perfect combination. On one hand the first one is modern, bright, sophisticated and the other one is more traditional, family type, peaceful, and romantic. All the above plus their delicious foods, beautiful crafts, and the best touristic service make them excellent places to spend an unforgattable vacation.

The best known Ixtapa beaches are Bahia del Palmar, Playa Linda, Las Cuatas -The Twins - known by this name because they are two beaches alike that together make the shape of a W. The last beach is Playa Quieta which counts with a beautiful view youll never forget. All of the beaches are located at the hotel zone.
In Zihuatanejo the best known beaches are La del Puerto, La Madera, La Ropa, Las Gatas y Majahua. When youll visit Zihuatanejo dont forget to pass by the Arqueological Museum de la Costa Grande located at the end of La Playa Municipal.
The Pacific warm waters invite you to swimm, dive or water ski. We only suggest you that if you notice a red flag which means high waves do not do any kind of activitiy there.
In case that you may decide to dive or try water ski you can rent equipment at the hotels or beach clubs. About fishing, it is only for early birds because you have to be at the boat at 6:00 am in order to get the best fishes in the area. Another nice activity is to go on a ferry to Ixtapa, or to Playa Quieta.
The parachute activity is another great activity where you may enjoy a beautiful view. However, if you are more into inland activities Ixatapa offers you the opportunity to practice tennis, golf, walkings around the beach etc.
If you want to go shopping Ixtapa has all kinds of crafts made from different sources such as wood, iron, shelds, clay etc. Sandals, huaraches, palm basquets, are available as well. You may find all these objects at the malls, at the local market, or in La Casa de Artesanias de Zihuatanejo (The Crafts House of Zihuatanejo).
The people who love birds may enjoy Isla de Ixtapa where all kinds of birds live in a natural habitat along with other atractive animals. In order to get to the island you have to ride on a boat that will take you around the bay for a quick view of it, and a lit of bit later youll arrive at the island.
It is for sure that in any of these places you will have a great time because Ixtapa & Zihuatanejo are always ready to give their best to the tourists.
