Monterrey is an example of modernism and industrial development. The Monterrey City is composed of an urbane structure wtih services, communications, and public monuments. It offers to its visitors different attractions. El Museo de Monterrey exposes a collection of Latinoamerican art from the XX century. El Museo de Arte Cotemporaneo counts with 14 exhibition places. Around La Gran Plaza there are marvelous buildings. One of them is El Palacio de Gobierno - The Government Building -, La Catedral Metropolitana- The Metropolitan Cathedral -, La Capilla de los Duces Nombres -The Chappel of the Sweet Names -, Casino Monterrey - Monterrey Casino -, and finally El Banco Mercantil - The Mercantile Bank -. Monterreys surroundings are very attractive as well. El Parque Fundidora and El Parque la Pastora surrounded by a natural environment. There are excellent green areas, a natural lake, and a zoo.

Another touristic attraction is Grutas Garcia. Located 40 minutes away from Monterrey. They got created naturally between 50 or 60 millions of years adn people suppose they were located under the sea during that time because there are shells pasted to the walls. 90 minutes away from Monterrey there is Cola de Caballo. A beautiful cascade 25 meters long. Other atractive places near Monterrey are Santiago, Mina, Grutas de Bustamante, Villaldama, Sabinas Hidalgo, Agualeguas, General Luazua and a lot more magnifient places that you will enjoy. In Monterrey the traditional dishes you should taste are la machaca.

It is a plate made of scrumbled eggs with beef. Another plate is el cabrito goat prepared as BBQ. Also, a traditional dessert is las glorias made with milk and sugar.
