Cabo San Lucas or Los Cabos as known is located at the southern tip of Baja California and the Pacific Ocean meet. Here the surf has shaped the dun colored cliffs into bizarre juting fingers and arches of rock.
The desert ends in white sand coves, with cacti standing a thir entrances llike sentries under the soaring palm trees. Big game fishing fans are lured from all over the world for marlin and sailfish. Althoug Cabo San Lucas and its neighbor San Jose Del Cabo have little to offer in the way of sophistication, their isolation and beauty make them a superb destination for cruise passangers or just visitors.

 

 
In Los Cabos a flea market is on the wharf and the downtown is just few blocks from the pier, to visit San Jose is just 23 miles, there is public bus service they charge about $4.00 per person.
The main downtown street of Cabo San Lucas is Lazaro Cardenas Ave, most shops banks, and restaurants are between the avenida and the waterfront. Downtown businesses have suffered a bit as a result of the marinas new Handicrafts Market. From the marina you can see the spectacular natural rock arches called Los Arcos, but they are more impressive from the water. Just 15 minutes from Los Cabos there is a dramatic desert, populated by wild horses and incredible cacti.
Along the waterfront and ont its side streets, Cabo San Lucas is a shoppers mecca, the selection of handcrafts and sportswear is specially good.
You can find stores like Amarras, Ferrioni, Fila, and Benetton, you can go also to the Plaza Bonita, to the Tianguis, where you can get a lot of souvenirs. Los Cabos is the best place in Mexico for sports fishing, you can charter a 28 foot cruiser for about $ 300 usd a day from the Marina. Also for prime diving and snorkeling , Los Cabos offers a lot , there are many places where you can rent scuba equipment near the sportfishing docks.
The main beaches of Los Cabos are Playa del Amor located at the end of the penninsula, with the Mar de Cortez is one side and the Pacific Ocean in the other. The Playa Medano is another popular beach in Los Cabos, the Playa Hacienda located in the inner harbor by the Hacienda Hotel.
 
 


 

In Los Cabos you can get good food in your hotel, but you can try El Galeon, located in the marina on terraces facing to the ocean. The Seafood and Italian are there specialities. The Giggling Marlin is just another casual restaurant with american classica food as well as burritos, tostadas, tacos, beer, with satellite tv to see the TVs broadcast sporting events through all the year.
In order to mention some other atractions we suggest you to visit Santiago where the citys only Zoo it is located. Buenavista and Los Barriles are two splenderous beaches where tourists and resindents like to practice surf and other aquatic sports. Finally, we have San Bartolo a traditional candy maker town or El Triunfo where you may visit an old mine and buy hand made crafts.
